Strap up your piratical boots, and navigate your ship through turbulent waters in Sail, a co-operative trick-taking game for two players. Reach the end of this dangerous deep end, and avoid taking damage from the Kraken to win the game together...or your crew will be sleeping with the fish!
Before each round begins, players exchange cards, then play a series of tricks. Different game actions will be triggered depending on who wins each trick in combination with the unique character skills. However, the crashing sea water and the roaring Kraken make for a deafening situation, and players are unable to communicate about tactics and card information from the moment cards are dealt to the end of the action phase.
Players win the game as a team if they sail their ship into the final token before the Kraken reaches the Death tile or the Kraken deck is exhausted.

Probably my favorite 2-player game. The trick taking is well done and unique. The difficulty goes up a lot in the 4th and 5th scenario. We haven't been able to beat those yet, and we've played it 20+ times. Update: We probably have played this 50+ times.
Brutal learning curve. NOT for the easily frustrated or discouraged. But the journey from "Are we stupid, or is this game stupid?" to "No, we're smart AND this game is smart!" has been thrilling. Many memorable high-five moments. Sail has become, without a doubt, my favorite 2-player trick taking game out of the 5 I've tried. Seafarer expansion is recommended.
This is exactly the type of board games I love. The game where u need to utilize all ur brain cells so you can calculate and execute your next turn in right way. This is also a game which you can't play with everybody, your teammate needs to be as included as you are. Just played it for 3 hours straight and I think it is amazing. Small box, yet many things inside. So many stuff you need to keep an eye on while playing. Just amazing!
Awesome 2 player cooperative trick taking game. It requires good synchronization and cooperation between players, presentation is great, highly recommended.
