Sankoré: The Pride of Mansa Musa

Ce jeu propose une telle imbrication dans ses choix ! Quel gamedesign impressionnant. Ce système de scoring est par ailleurs très intéressant car il permet à qui sait actionner les bon leviers de ne jamais vraiment être laissé sur le bas-côté. C'est un jeu très lourd qui implique par sa nature un haut risque d'analysis paralysis, il faut donc sélectionner avec soin les joueurs autour de la table sinon la partie risque de s'éterniser. Malgré cela, Sankoré est un excellent jeu dont les choix et les enjeux s'éclaircissent de plus en plus au fil des parties.

Love this game so much! So heavy and thinky. A brutally and beautifully heavy Euro. I am baffled by the number of “Medium - 3” difficulty ratings. Don’t kid yourself. This is a Lacerda-style complexity game. Very lengthy board set-up time though. This game should be getting a lot more accolades and love. So original! Baffling that it isn’t getting more love for top games of 2024 lists.

Amazingly beautiful heavy euro game. All the game areas are very interconnected and it offers quite a lot of interaction for it's weight. All the interaction comes from it's scoring system which varies depending on the actions each player takes. Maybe most serious euro gamers won't like the amount of interaction this game offers but it's quite a refreshing take on a mostly by-the-numbers game.

I think this may have become my new favorite game of all time. I am still not sure whether diversifying or specializing in 1 or 2 disciplines is the best, but I look forward to finding out. The solo is also very easy to play, and tried to steal your majorities every chance it gets, just like a real player.

It's a not so well known jewel. It's a sound game with a very thematically accurate approach. All the mechanisms of the game fit nicely together and once you reach to that point your mind just explodes of pleasure. Also the fact that has heavy cut-throught mechanisms adds a very fun player interaction and worker placement is brilliant in this game. Not to forget to mention the delightful art design by Ian O'Toole. It's superb, beautiful and you can absolutely understand pretty much anything based on iconography.
