The best of the Series that we played all 4 boxes of. Top Dinner Party game of all time. This set mixed up the formula on a few of the cases to great success. You can tell that this was a labor of love.

In 1880, Sherlock Holmes appointed a group of street children as The Baker Street Irregulars, his unofficial "police force". This is their story, and the story of a particular year that thrusts the Irregulars and the master detective into a series of challenging and dangerous events... Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective is a cooperative game where the players try to solve mysterious cases by walking the foggy London streets in search of clues. Unravel the thread of intrigue, answer a series of questions, and compare your detective skills to those of the master sleuth himself, Sherlock Holmes. The Baker Street Irregulars is a standalone game containing ten cases, including introductory cases that are perfect for new players, while also offering novel mechanisms and surprises to give seasoned investigators something different. Incredible! The cases were super interesting and varied, and stronger as a whole than the original, with a great final case (whereas with the original game, we felt it was very anticlimactic, peaking at around Case 5 or so). Gameplay-wise, I love the new system of collecting letters to unlock info, so that you don't get info out of order (which could happen in the original SHCD).

Finished all ten cases and apart from one I didn't like much I think this is the best set of cases for Consulting Detective. Very difficult but logical and authentic. Cases 4, 8 and 10 were probably the best mystery game cases I've ever played, and I have played a lot. Case 10 was incredible in how it linked previous ones and had different endings. Edit: We just realised there is also more to discover beyond the 10 cases! Wow. When you finish case 10, do NOT just put the game away! Explore...

I love this game. For me, there are few things I've enjoyed more this year than getting a group of friends together to play this. It's usually an all day affair for us. The published play time of 90minutes is insane. I think the fastest I've ever finished this game is 5 hours and usually it takes my group closer to 8. But it's 8 hours where I am locked in. It's quite challenging. We inevitably get stuck multiple times during the session. But slowly piecing together the story is super rewarding. Often times we get a bad score, but it's still so much fun! I've played 4 out of the 10 cases so far. Great value.
