Sherwyn was the first Jarin fortress to fall into the hands of Viking raiders from Ivinia, conquered by a ragtag crew of outlaws and pirates. Despite years of intermingling with the local Jarin population, members of Clan Sherwyn still maintain strong hostility toward their subjects.
The current lord, Valhakar Venril Sherwyn, is a violent and choleric man, famous for his bimonthly drunken feasts; he suspects the loyalty of the settlements of Kjen and Thoen, who pay him tribute, and is involved in a blood feud with the Serewyn Clan of Marby.
The volume describes the history, government, religion, economy and military forces of the settlement, with a color map of the castle, color maps for game masters and players and details on numerous craftsmen and village locations, including a two-page analysis dedicated to the house of Gerdeen the Witch, an elderly Jarin believed to possess witchcraft powers. 12 color pages.
