Not for everybody but it totally works for me as a solo player. Building ships is so satisfying.

Shipyard
Available in an external warehouse.Shipping in about 2/5 days
As you take your turns, the cube on the marker wheel will rotate along with it. When the cube completes the turn and falls into the hole; end the active player's turn, after which, remove the rightmost cube in the reserve (the space above the Actions track) from play. If there is an empty Action tile in the last position (that is, if the tile farthest from the marker wheel does not have an Action marker on it), place a Florin on this tile to make it more interesting. At the beginning of the next player's turn, during Step 1, take the cube back from the hole, rotate the marker wheel normally by one space, and then put the cube back in its slot.
The end of the game is triggered when the cube on the marker wheel falls into the hole and no more cubes are left in the reserve.
Otherwise, the game ends when the Ship tiles run out. At the end of the game, you will count the Bonus Points given by Government Contracts and Employees (Merchants) and add them to the Points gained during the game.
NOTE: Due to editorial requirements, the back box is in the English edition. The game has no language elements and the rules inside the box are in Italian.

Yes! The box contains a game in the game: how to close the box after having built the cardboard construction! I did it after playing WOODCRAFT and after one hour of art & craft to cut it properly (overhead crane). This was crazy!!! Next...start reading the rulebook... ...Shipyard is smooth, elegant and clean with many crucial choices during gameplay (it is very strategic and tactical). One of the best in its genre.
This is a great game. Never played the 1st edition. First game too about three hours but as we became more comfortable the game pace became faster. Look forward to playing this one again
Reminiscent of Age of Sail, in a good way. Great table presence of numerous smaller boards utilizing simple mechanisms for play management. It took a few attempts to get into, but once the way the numerous smaller strategies work together clicked, it gets really addictive. The assembly of the cardboard components was good fun too. Rating star lost for some cloudy rules, and score track needs to be longer. Plus, there is no way to get full satisfaction from launching enough ships in the recommended two player game length; we play either 5 or 7 cubes - depending on how much time we have - for 2 players to get enough construction and scoring to happen.
