I like this even more than the original Silver & Gold. One definite improvement is the fact that you don't need to keep track whose turn it is because the number on the card indicates who should take a replacement card first if multiple players go out simultaneously. The theming is a bit dubious but so are pirate themed games in general I guess. There are multiple goals to aim for but rushing through the tombs is a valid strategy even though collecting gem pairs and torches on the way out give you a good amount of points as well. I would play this anytime!

Even better than the base game. You don't need the base game to play. This has a higher skill ceiling & bigger swings in the scores than the first one. As far as flip and writes go this should be considered a gold standard. Short and sweet, good theme, meaningful choices.
Silver & Gold is one my favorite x-and-write games, and after one play, this version will probably replace the old one. Having to make a connected path instead of marking anywhere gives the game a different feel. The scoring mechanics in the new game also feel more thought out than the ones in the earlier game. Completed cards are a flat 10 points each, there is a race to complete cards of different colors, and there are negative spots that you'll often want to mark because they serve as a shortcut to the valuable spots. Really smart, really fun, and it still plays in under 30 minutes.
Very clever flip & write game, in which it quickly become obvious that this is a race. Patiently waiting for the perfect shape to be drawn is not a viable strategy, since less-than-perfect moves will push you forward faster and will give you better rewards for completing a tomb. This sense of being in a rush is strangely fitting for the theme, grabbing as much loot as you can, as fast as possible. For how small and portable this game is, the gameplay is quite intense, I'm impressed!
Nice quick filler with multiple paths to victory. Glad the cards are laminated and the markers are high quality too. Enjoyed every play with this.
