Description
The once-proud Phoenix Kingdom of Zhoujiang is torn by civil war. Most of the kingdom's 13 provinces have sided with one of three conflicting factions, with only a few still seeking neutrality. One of these is the Province of the Praying Mantis, west of the kingdom, between Yi's followers to the north and General Wu's forces to the south. But danger also threatens from beyond Zhoujiang's borders: news of an assault on a monastery and a great army of barbarians from the Jogai steppes reaches Prince Toro's palace shortly before the new year.
The fate of the Province of the Praying Mantis hangs by a thread. Adventurers are tasked with investigating these events. What lies behind the assault on the sacred Tanglang monastery? Where does the Jogodai army hide? And what interests drive the factions of Yi and Wu, whose power machinations increasingly pressure the princess?
