It fits so well with the already-wonderful base game that I can't imagine ever NOT playing with it. I've encouraged Gamewright to just package it in with the base game in future printings.

Excellent add-on to base game and works wonderfully. *Note: While this promo is no longer available, it is included within 'Sushi Go Party'
There seems to be some confusion and disagreement as to how you handle ties between people that played sauce and people that didn't. It states in the directions that if multiple people who played sauce tie, then you split the points ignoring any remainder. So, we decided to play that way with ties without sauce, except if you didn't play the sauce, you don't get your share of the points. For example, A and B both have 5 colors. A played sauce and B did not. A gets 2 points, B gets 0.
Although this expansion is not really a game changer, including more options to this wonderful game has to be considered a welcome addition. It does provide a different way to score and can be useful in the latter part of hands, when options tend to dwindle.
This promo expansion allows you to score for playing the most variety (different background color) of cards that round. No reason any fan of the original game shouldn't get this as it gives players another way of scoring. Same rating as the base game.
