Game designer here. Swordcrafters packs a surprising amount of strategy into a tight game that's quick to learn. It rewards players that can think ahead in 3D to assemble your sword, yet can stay competitive with resource acquisition. The set collection is the core, the splitting mechanic is a unique take on resource division and drafting, and the sword building is just straight fun and imaginative. It can be played competitively ages 6-8+ or even just as a fun sword building exercise for kids 4+. Going by the ratings system provided on BGG, I will always enjoy playing! I'm even making a jumbo version in my garage for Gen Con 2018!

Swordcrafters

In Swordcrafters, players compete to forge the best sword scoring based on length, quality, and magic. Each round each player makes one cut in a grid of sword tiles to create a separation. After separations phase, each player selects one grouping of sword tiles and assembles them into their sword. When there are not enough sword tiles to form a new grid, scoring occurs.
Players hold their swords in the center of the table to score based on length. Sword quality scoring is based on the highest number of adjacent matching gems on one side of the sword. Sword magic scoring is based on the highest sum of two gem types.
A innovative 3D sword-building game where the player builds and holds their sword as they play.

Unique game that can cater to any skill set and has a lot of potential with its expansion.
Got to play an early version of this at a recent con and absolutely loved it! Perfect blend of depth for experienced players and simplicity to pull new players in. This will be a part of my game night collection for a long time.
Love this idea. This game is going to be unique. I've enjoyed reading the developers updates on the kickstarter campaign. He's put a ton of though and work into making this game.
Played a few different rounds of this with many different expansion modules - I'm surprised by how much of a brain burner this game is for how simple the gameplay is. I keep changing my strategy, and while it doesn't always work, it's always satisfying to try. I was also pretty shocked by how good the two-player is. This will definitely be making it to the table a lot, but be warned; if you're a competitive type, this game is going to kick that into overdrive. Very cutthroat with two players!
