Description
Wanting to live closer to nature, you've decided to start cultivating rice in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Sacred snakes are commonly found in the rice paddies, creatures believed to help rice grow. The more snakes there are, the greater the harvest—but you must control the snake population to successfully harvest the rice.
Tanbo is an abstract game for two players with a Japanese theme. The main mechanism resembles Mancala, played since ancient times, but has evolved here into something unusual and mysterious, with elements reminiscent of worker placement, option expansion, area majority and set collection. Winner of the Rakuichi Fresh Dragon Award in 2023.

Mais quelle pépite ! C'est une sorte d'Awalé à la japonaise : très brise-neurone, il est tout mignon et tellement agréable à jouer (si vous aimez les jeux de réflexion pure, bien sûr). Je n'avais pas ressenti une telle excitation pour un jeu "abstrait" depuis le génialissime Donuts.
