Description Description

Insert compatible with Terra Mystica® and the Fire and Ice® expansion. The design provides both efficient storage and improved game play. The trays can be utilised during the game, and they greatly aid set-up and clear-away times.

The insert is arranged in three layers.

These are the trays for the faction pieces which fill the bottom layer of the insert. There is one for each of the nine factions, and they have a divider to separate the larger buildings from the smaller pieces.

These are the trays for the favor tiles, the terrain tiles, and the bonus cards and action overview tiles. The favor tiles are arranged with a separate slot for each of the four cults to aid game play. The terrain tiles are stored vertically and at an angle so they can be quickly sorted through to find the needed type.

These are the remaining trays for the coins, workers, power tokens and action tokens. The last two trays are for the other game tokens and tiles.

As mentioned above, the trays can be used during the game to organise the components and make access by all players easy.

The boards and rules go on top of the trays acting as a lid, allowing the game to be stored vertically. First goes the game rules. This is followed by the main game board, and the faction boards and the cult board. Lastly go the turn order board and the cloth bag.

The insert is designed to hold 4 faction boards and the cult board. Adding a fifth faction board will cause the box lid to lift by 2 mm. This allows the game to be packed ready for a game away from home, and carried safely and organised. The remaining faction boards and the game board variant, together with the rules in languages not needed, should be stored in the Fire and Ice box.

This product consists of a flat-pack of 6 Evacore sheets. The trays require assembly, which is quick and fun, using ordinary PVA glue. Detailed instructions are included in the package.

When I played this game for the first time I was amazed that a board game could do all this. It has stood the passage of time and while there have been many new versions of this game, this one is still my favorite.

The more I play this game, the more I fall in love with it. Each new game brings wonderful new decisions about which faction to choose, where to start and how to play. I think it could become my favourite game of all time.

I think the game mechanics are fantastic. You want to build close to other players to construct trading houses cost-effectively and maintain power, but you also need the freedom to terraform and settle on your own. The changing round conditions and the wide variety of factions make every game feel unique. The rules are fairly straightforward, and the challenge lies in maximizing each turn with your limited resources—offering plenty of meaningful decisions. I haven’t played the spiritual successor, Gaia Project, which is often described as the 'better' or 'even more complex' version of Terra Mystica, but I already love the original. A solid 10 points from me. Playing time 2-3 hours.

Takes a really long and tiresome session to learn, and the rules could be better organized. But after you've familiarized yourself with how it works it's a perfect game, a perfectly thought-out system with many elements which work together very well, everything layed out clearly and no luck involved, and every game is a bit different from the previous one.
