Description
In the 24th century humanity begins terraforming the planet Mars. Large corporations, supported by the World Government on Earth, launch huge projects to raise the temperature, increase oxygen levels, and cover the surface with oceans, making the Red Planet habitable.
In Terraforming Mars players take control of one of these corporations and collaborate in the terraforming process, but compete to earn the most points — awarded not only for contributions to terraforming but also for advancing human society and building infrastructure throughout the Solar System.
Each player buys and plays project cards representing hundreds of possibilities: from planting forests and cities, to asteroids, power plants, and entire new animal and plant ecosystems. Cards combine creating ever different synergies, and the hexagonal board of the planet is gradually modified by placing oceans, green areas, and cities.
The corporation that contributes most to making Mars a new, thriving world for humanity wins.

One of a kind, it really is the game that makes friends fall in love with board games.

It’s deep, richly thematic, and a blast every time it hits the table. Even after ten years and hundreds of plays, my group’s love for this game hasn’t faded a bit. Great game and great company.

My absolute Favorit Game. I love the Engine building part. It is playing so smooth.

Possibly my favorite overall game. The layers of strategic depth, and the number of interesting decisions to be made over the course of a game, is pretty much unmatched in my (somewhat limited) gaming experience. It gets an A+ in concept and execution from me — I love it!
