Description
You're the Chosen One in a monster-hunting squad and your love interest just got bitten by a werewolf… You're a daring pilot of an intergalactic spaceship and the ship's AI has gone crazy by shutting down the engines… You're the brilliant hacker in a criminal gang and the whole team is locked in the vault in the middle of the heist of the century… And the show has absolutely no budget for the next fifty minutes of television. Welcome to The Bottle Episode.
The Bottle Episode is a one-shot for one game master and 3-6 players. It plays in 2-4 hours and requires a d6, something to write with, and free printable character sheets or blank index cards.
In the first part, the GM guides players through a series of prompts to create their favorite TV show, choosing between sci-fi, western, heist, monster hunters, or sitcom. In the second part, the group plays the bottle episode of the show. Mechanics revolve around rolling a d6, with modifiers spent by drawing on personal and production resources: once spent, a resource is gone for the rest of the game — the producers could only afford what's in the pile.
