Description Description
You awaken in the dark, your skin cold, your mind blank. You have nothing but your fear, a flickering candle, and a question: How long will your light last? Trapped and crawling your way through a pitch-black labyrinth, equipped with nothing but dim candles, you must work together to explore the maze and escape. Unfortunately, your weak candlelight illuminates only your immediate surroundings. Worse still, horrifying Wax Eaters — monsters who despise the light — lurk in the suffocating darkness for their opportunity to strike. The Night Cage is a fully co-operative, horror-themed tile-placement game that traps 1-5 lost souls within an unnatural labyrinth of eternal darkness. To win, players must each collect a key, find a gate, and escape as a group. Escape won't be easy as each player's visibility is limited by the weak light of their candle. They illuminate only tiles directly connected to their own, and when players move, tiles that fall into darkness are removed from the game. Doubling back the way you came only opens new paths, the old ones being lost forever with critical keys and gates vanishing if your light move away from them...

KS Deluxe Edition Such a brilliant game with the new set up rules for the tiles. Elevated this game massively and can now play with the advanced mode which adds so much to the gameplay. Highly recommend and can't wait for the new expansion!

Just played this at a friends and absolutely loved it. The video on the phone app made it SO easy to set up and learn, I cannot comprehend why all board games do not come with this, other than a lack of resources, but it should become a higher priority and more common practice. The only tiny downside is that the game came without very good organization for the pieces - all the tiles just go into one big bag, which is not ideal, but that is literally the only flaw, which is irrelevant compared to the fantastic experience of the gameplay and art.

The Night Cage is similar to Forbidden Island but with more depth and a really creepy atmosphere (creepy in a good way)! I like how the maze behind you disappears into the darkness and you can never find your way back to the same place. This is my new Halloween selection favorite!

Fantastic game. Extremely thematic, you really feel like you're trapped in the labyrinth. I enjoy tile placement and the mechanics of tiles being illuminated and then going dark was great. Basic game is great but you gotta try with the advanced rules. Just remember when you're illuminating, you draw the tile and then decide which passageway to connect it to. Much more strategic this way.

Me and my friends we absolutely enjoy this game! We play it like 3 to 4 times every gathering and we find the mechanics of changing/dissapearing tiles very addicting! Just a reminder, that this game is quite difficult, but we love it anyways
