Description
Called by Fire is an expansion book for the role-playing game Through the Breach, set in the Malifaux universe. The once-bright star above Malifaux has shattered, and a fragment now hangs in the skies of every other realm: Fated and Fatemasters can include the consequences of the Burning Man's destruction in their campaigns.
The volume contains a setting section with history, recent events, perspectives, and new material, from the first sparks of the Burning Man in Ephraim Wade's mind to beyond the events of Ashes of Malifaux. The influence of the Burning Man has waned, but the current situation brings new problems for Earth, Malifaux, and beyond.
The Burned Fate Tarot is an addition to the Crossroads Tarot (or the one used in character creation) for Fated already in play: fire rewrites Fate, with new destinies and abilities. The central mechanic is Empowerment, a temporary infusion of energy with contained but powerful effects, particularly important for the new Pursuit: the Adherent, who believes in hidden powers, secret societies, or the manifestation of a personal goal.
