I recently rediscovered Through the Desert and loved it! As expected, that was helped by this expansion which has 4 modules, something for everyone. At a minimum, I love the goal cards as they make the gameplay different each time and prevent one from playing the same pet strategies every time. That in itself would be awesome to recommend, but the Bazaars and other modules make this a no-brainer. Despite what many of the reviews and comments on bgg say, I think all the expansions are really good and add some much needed fun and randomness to the base game
Great starter game. Easy to teach and play. Placing your camels gets tighter as you go along.

Four modular expansions tweak the classic gameplay of Through The Desert with fun twists without diluting the elegant nature of the gameplay. Add one for a slight change, or bring out all four for experienced players looking for a challenge!
Salt Mines - Connect a caravan of camels between the salt mines and villages on the edge of the board. Being first means big points!
Crocodile Watch - The crocodile moves every turn, from one oasis to another. No camels can move onto an adjacent space to the croc. Can you delay your opponents to an oasis or other important resources?
Rival Nomads - These 10 goals require even more creative caravan tactics. Bonus points for most camels on the edges of the board? Even more for the largest group of your least abundant color? How will these affect your game?
Special Waterholes - Snatch up a camel tile to be able to place an extra piece. In a game where turns are so tight, this extra tempo is crucial! Trading is a way of life in the desert. Picking up one trade good is worth nothing, but finding someone to trade with by having a pair? That’s ten points!
