Description
Italian Horror Novel published by Limana Umanìta
Five women murdered. And not just any women, but Nothyen. And among those bodies lies that of Isen, daughter of the Daira, heir to the imperial throne. Thus begins, with a mystery to unravel, "Una teoria di ombre" ("A Theory of Shadows"), the exhilarating novel debut of Ligurian author Valentina Zunino for Limana Umanìta editions.
Zunino's passion for worldbuilding asserts itself in this work in a prominent way, giving life to a coherent and complex world where magic is a dark, wild force that determines the lives of the protagonists in a deranged and harmful manner. Imagine a feudal Japan with gothic atmospheres, a world where a single unfortunate choice can attract ill omen, where every journey is a gamble and spirit-animals throng beneath the walls of the cities of men, and perhaps you will have just grasped the unique atmosphere that pervades the novel.
342 pp. b/w, color cover, paperback.
