Description
In Valeria: Card Kingdoms, each player takes on the role of a Duke or Duchess striving to defend the kingdom and build the most influential city. During the game, players slay monsters, recruit citizens, and expand their domain. All these actions contribute to the infrastructure of their own duchy and increase their influence in the form of victory points. Each player should keep a close eye on the other Dukes and Duchesses, as they are pursuing the exact same goal. The game is played over a series of turns, each consisting of four phases: Dice Phase The Active player rolls the two dice. Yield Phase Each die individually and the sum of both dice activate the corresponding citizens of all players. Players receive the resources produced by their activated citizens. Action Phase The Active player performs 2 of the following actions: Slay a monster Recruit a citizen Receive a resource Take over a territory End Phase The Active player passes the dice to the left. In each turn, these phases are executed in exactly this order. The game ends when: A) All monsters threatening Valeria are slain. OR B) All territories of Valeria have been taken over by the Dukes. OR C) A number of card stacks in the display are exhausted. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game is the winner and is crowned the new ruler of Valeria! Valeria: Card Kingdoms can also be played solo. The monsters then wreak havoc among the citizens and in the territories. If the solo player fails, all of Valeria falls into ruin.
