Description
Darksworn introduces cooperative gameplay to Valeria: Card Kingdoms through story-driven narrative: your game group plays as Dukes and Duchesses collaborating to repel an ancient darkness threatening the kingdom. During play you will face Monsters, recruit Citizens, pray to the Eagle for Blessings, and complete Tasks from a series of Books that reveal the saga of your adventures.
Each of the 6 Books of the Darksworn Saga is a structured deck of die-cut cards that introduces new rules and transforms Valeria: Card Kingdoms into a fully cooperative game. The Story board, placed above the Monster row, displays the current Book, its new rules, and a secret that holds captured Citizens. Column tokens define Monster attack columns, Walls protect Citizen stacks, and the Eagle board allows spending Victory Points to activate Blessings (always available: 8 VP to rebuild 1 Wall), with a deck of 12 Blessings and a 3-card draft row. Included are 9 new Monsters to combine with those from the base game and expansions and a starting Explorer card for each player; there are no new Citizens.
Kickstarter Edition: compared to the retail edition includes 3 additional expansions not contained in the store version, The Fire Temple Monsters, The Kaharian Monsters, and The Shade Events.
English edition published by Daily Magic Games. Not a complete game: requires Valeria: Card Kingdoms.
