Description Description

War Diary Magazine Issue #5 (Vol 2, No. 1)   A new wargaming magazine, but decidedly old-school in our approach.  We don't publish any games, but then don't you already pay enough for games you may never play?Published quarterly, WAR DIARY magazine publishes no games but instead concentrates on thoroughly examining existing games from a wide range of game publishers, both large and small.  Each issue contains historical articles with tie-ins to gaming topics;  new game scenarios, variants, and expansions; game and book reviews; interviews with notable gaming personalities; and articles on game strategy and good play.  Contributors include an interesting mix of both well known and new writers, each with a unique perspective.   Issue #5  BALL’S BLUFF: A History With Designer’s Notes by John Poniske; THE LAST BATTLE: Ie Shima, 1945 by Michael Rinella; SPARTACUS REVISITED: Clarifications, Errata, and Variants by Lt. Col. (Ret.) John B. Firer; A WAR DIARY INTERVIEW: Randy Heller by Roy Matheson; MOUNTAINAND ENGINEER TROOPS IN UP FRONT by Tom Cundiff; ST. GEORGE’S VALOR by Hans Korting; A SHORT RETROSPECTIVE: Magazines in the Golden Age by Roy Matheson; TATCHANKA: Design Lessons Learned by Marja Erwin; RELUCTANT ENEMIES: The War in Syria, 1941 by Jeffrey Gonzales; PASS IN REVIEW: Capsule Reviews by Robert Hatcher and Roy Matheson.
