Great step up from the original game. For those familiar with the game, this is what will always be played, but I still recommend keeping the original game for new players.

3-4 Players Social Deduction, Lighter Experience, Feeler Great game for what it does. Its a light yet interesting game, great filler. Player count: I would say its best in 2-3. Haven't tried it as 4 players, but since there is lot of uncertainty in that player count I would say it might be too random. Original vs This: I don't own the original game, but from my understanding BTTJ is the same (different heroes), but with added special monsters - which for me really adds some valuable stuff to the gameplay and with new possibilities of things that can happen. Quality: I enjoy the arts and the quality of the components. 9/10

I picked this up when I was first starting my deep dive into the hobby because I like swords and sorcery. I didn't really understand the concept at first, but when we got it to the table with someone who had played it before it suddenly made all of the sense in the world. It's a beautiful game of pressing your luck, where you constantly have to decide if making things harder for your friends is worth possibly getting stuck with the mess you've made yourself.

I always play this alongside the original. Having all 8 heroes to choose from makes this extremely fun, and the new heroes have very interesting strengths and weaknesses. The random 2 special monsters added to the deck create an interesting sense of mystery at the beginning of the game while bringing a new combination to each game. This game is very near and dear to my heart.
