Excellent game! Sailing under the radar. Very enjoying action selection. If you can get your hand on it, buy it. One of my favorites of 2017. And i am not an usual euroish player. On the negative: - It is hard to get into it. Difficult start. Give it a try, gameplay and options opens up while playing. - Tribes are unbalanced. Solution is simple: It's a module, don't use it. - Solo KI not challanging But overall the game is a 10 to me.

Wendake
- 54 cards (57.5mmx89.0mm)
But this white man’s war is only a marginal aspect of the game; the focus is on life in the native villages, fields, and forests. In this game, you won’t find the traditional tipis, which were used by southwestern tribes who moved their camps to follow the bison herds. The natives of the Great Lakes were more sedentary, living in longhouses. The women farmed beans, corn, and pumpkins, while the men hunted beavers in the forests, mainly to sell their pelts as leather.
In Wendake, you step into the shoes of the chief of a Native American tribe. You will have to manage the most important aspects of your tribe’s daily existence, thereby earning points on the Economic, Military, Ritual, and Mask tracks. The core of the game is the action selection mechanism: you will have the opportunity to choose better and better actions over 7 years (i.e., rounds), and the winner will be the chief who finds the best combinations of actions and uses them to lead their tribe to prosperity!

I like the theme and the mechanics of this game. High initial rating but could go down eventually because I worry that every game will start playing the same. The game forbids specialization strategies because you always want to perform well in the 4 domains.
absolutely lovely game. Great choices, nice components and interesteing mechanics. Also beautuful back story. Love North American Natives as pictured in reality not Hollywood films.
After one play all I can say is that this is a very clever and elegant game. Action selection and scoring is innovative and fun. Took a little while to learn the actions and symbols as there is no text at all on the game. But a few rounds in and things clicked into place. Terrific game and is VERY underrated.
This is a heavy action selection game with a neat action grid thingy on your player board... the map stuff about controlling harvestable resources is a bit bloated, but otherwise everything makes this a cool heavy euro!
