In an auction game the players set the price of everything: you bid for a card, a lot, an action, and the winner is whoever judges best what something is really worth. It is the most direct way to create interaction, because every bid is a statement to the rest of the table. It suits people who like to negotiate, read opponents and take calculated risks.
The average count is 2 to 7 players, sessions run about 85 minutes and the suggested age is 11; with more people at the table the bidding gets livelier. Realms of Destiny is the quick pick, half an hour for up to 6; Skull - Nuova Versione Italiana mixes bidding and bluff for 3 to 6; Nova Lectio: Status is for 2 to 4 players from age 14; Emberheart (Edizione Italiana) is the ninety-minute title for tables that want more structure.
