Simplified rules for tank warfare in ASL environment. Excellent way to bring in the armour into what is already an excellent game system. The charts are very well done as it simplifies all the main possible values in TH and TK numbers. This make playing the game very quick and lesser down time. But I do agree, that not all modifiers are accounted. Which makes these take battles feel more like Gun shot similar to an MG team. Nevertheless. A very good starting point for ASL wannabes.

With ASLSK 1, 2, Beyond the Beaches, and a bunch of extra scenarios from various magazines. Lost as Germans in an error-ridden first-game scenario 2 where I didn't use equipment. Resounding win with them the second time round; absolutely marginal loss with them in scenario 3; resounding win with them in scenario 4.
Probably the best value to get into ASL. It has infantry, guns and vehicles and enough scenarios to play basic to advanced games. Like ASLSK 1 & 2, you don't need the first two games to play this module. Don't get used to this lack of inter-dependence as full ASL is pretty bad for requiring multiple modules to play included scenarios.
I am really impressed by the Starter Kits. Great job in taking a fraction of the full ASL ruleset and making a very solid ASL experience out of it. The Starter Kits can be played by themselves for many, many years with a ton of enjoyment. Or, a player can decide to go into full ASL and not have to unlearn a single rule. Again, very good design decision.
The point of diminishing returns for Starter Kit, if you're playing the Starter Kits in release order then this presents almost as much of a jump in complexity as going to full ASL that you're pretty much just better off skipping this to go to the real thing. As a standalone it is a nice introduction to ASL as SK#3 contains most of the core rules of ASL that come up in every game, but it's hard to recommend it over trying SK#1 and then deciding if you enjoy it enough to go all in.
