Introduced by the Moors, azulejos (originally white and blue ceramic tiles) were adopted by the Portuguese when their King Manuel I, visiting the Alhambra palace in southern Spain, was captivated by the astonishing beauty of the Moorish decorative tiles. The king, struck by the magnificence of the Alhambra's interior decoration, immediately gave the order to decorate his palace in Portugal with similar tiles as well. In this abstract tile-placing game, you will be a ceramic artist in charge of decorating the walls of the Royal Palace of Evora. During the game, you will have to strategically select the various tiles in order to build a beautiful mosaic on your personal board. You will earn points based on the position of the various tiles, including specific patterns, and will be penalised for advanced tiles. The aim of the game is to be the player with the most points at the end of the game. The game ends after the round in which at least one player has completed a horizontal line of 5 consecutive tiles on his wall. This version has been localised and edited directly by Asmodee Italia. Contents: 100 Resin Tiles, 4 Player Tiles, 9 Tray Tiles, 4 Score Cards, 1 First Player Marker, 1 Cloth Bag, 1 Rulebook.
