In the five centuries since the Wound was closed, the kingdoms of Kalar have struggled to rebuild their shattered societies. A resurgent Empire spread across the great sea, bringing civilization to the untamed eastern continent of Kheros. But Lilith, one of the immortal sorcerers responsible for the Worldwound, arrived first, preparing the way for the return of her dark mistress. For nearly six hundred years she has plotted and schemed. In 588 (2023 Gregorian), the wait is over.

Burning Banners: Rage of the Witch Queen is a fantasy wargame for two to six players. Fast playing and intuitive, a whopping 29 scenarios range from short campaigns with 2 Kingdoms and one map, to the entire 12-year war, in which 6 kingdoms battle over four maps. The rules include a quick-playing Basic Game as well as an Advanced Game which introduces Magic, Heroes, and Monsters guarding powerful treasures.

C'est le mouton à 5 pattes du wargame médiéval fantastique! Nous avons trouvé le jeu dont nous rêvions depuis toujours. L'immersion est immédiate grâce à la qualité du matériel et à une mécanique de jeu claire qui rend les parties captivantes. Des sorts à profusion, des monstres, des trésors, des citadelles (presque) imprenables, des goblins, des nains, des magiciens, des héros, des vampires,... Et quelle magnifique carte. Merci et bravo M.Moeller.

Un juegazo de guerra con temática de fantasía épica. Fácil de aprender a jugar y con profundidad. Perfecto para quien quiera jugar un wargame con un grupo de jugadores sin experiencia en wargames. Adictivo.

The theme is amazing, the components are beautiful. Gameplay is simple to do, but lots of complexity in decisions. This hits all the right marks for me, and is my first real foray into a war game. (Updated 5/21/24) After more plays, this game has now topped my gaming collection. The more I play, the more it grows on me. I don't often give a 10, but for me, this one stands out among my collection.

Epic fantasy battles, nail biting decisions of spending resources, wielding magical powers at just the right time, and mustering very cool units. The maps are gorgeous, and draw you into the game. The different units and mages in each army are sooo cool. I play solo, best effort each side. Love the constant back-and-forth of tough choices, high-operational planning and epic battles for the heart of the Old Empire!

Played only a few campaigns so far, with two and four players, loving it! Can't imagine how it plays with all six kingdoms, considering all the downtime, but if everybody is invested in discussing strategy with their allies, casting spells and controlling neutral monsters - the downtime does not feel that bad at all. And yes, game is absolutely gorgeous, you can see it from all the photos. I was familiar with Mr. Moeller's work on Magic: the Gathering and am really happy that he decided to put all this hard work into making this game such a beaty
