Cascadia: Bergseen (Cascadia: Alpine Lakes) is a standalone game that continues the journey started with the award-winning Cascadia. Players continue to build the most diverse environment of the Pacific Northwest, drawing new double hex habitat tiles and animal tokens to compose their landscape mosaic, expanding it not only in width but also in height.
The big novelty is the vertical dimension: habitat tiles are now double hex and can be stacked, transforming your territory into a three-dimensional spatial puzzle with new stacking and adjacency challenges. Each game offers unique scoring objective combinations based on how the five animal species are arranged among the three different alpine habitats, and also rewards how well the lakes and fauna are surrounded and elevated.
The turn remains simple and immediate: you choose a pair consisting of a habitat tile and an animal token, then place it in your expanding environment. Scoring cards for habitats and environments add special conditions, offering a new spatial challenge each time among the thousands of possible combinations.
