Bought the kickstarter because I'd played the original and loved it. Was not disappointed! Putting it back away correctly is annoying, but well worth it!!

- 94 cards (56.0mmx87.0mm)
- 4 cards (110.0mmx140.0mm)
Designed by Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc, Cleopatra and the Society of Architects is a fun and engaging family game that includes a true, three-dimensional palace that players compete to build. Players strive to become the wealthiest of Cleopatra’s architects by constructing the most magnificent and valuable parts of her palace. Players, however, will be tempted to trade in materials of dubious origins in order to build faster. While these corrupt practices might allow an architect to stay a step ahead of the rest, they come with a high price: the cursed Corruption Amulets honoring Sobek, the Crocodile-god. When Cleopatra finally get into her new palace, at the end of the game, will punish the most corrupted architects (the ones with the most amulets) deprive them of riches or giving them as a sacrifice to her Crocodile! The most wealthiest architect from among those still alive will be declared the winner. This new edition will have a whole new graphic by the talented Miguel Coimbra and a free-standing, totally 3D palace. In addition of a new graphic design, it will have a new rulebook updated by the designers for major simplicity and fluidity: The combination of Resource card to discard in order to build the pieces of the Palace have been reworked. The gains from the building of the Palace’s pieces have been recalculated The consequences of corruption have been reviewed. The Great Priest is no longer activated in the same way The number of players passed from 3-5 to 2-4. There is a new specific system to manage the Character cards, which are no longer part of the deck, and are instead handled separately. —description from the publisher

Very fun game with a nice table presence, but slightly too much of a "toy factor". Many components add to theme. Mini expansions add to gameplay considerably. Bit of a table hog, particularly with four players. Putting it away is a minigame in itself due to puzzle-like nature of putting everything back in the box.
