Two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES. In Codenames, two teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. Their teammates try to guess words of the right color while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid the assassin. A solid game that you must have, its simple but so fun to play with a lot of unique combinations, ideas, references that you can bring in that make the game so much more valuable thanks to all the interactions that happens. Love this game.

A perfect party game. Easily accessible rules, fun to speculate, and it's usually simple to come up with a clue to match at least a couple words, though it becomes more fun when the codemaster stretches it and risks giving points--or even the game--to the other team.
