I got the game and painted the miniatures. Played it on 9/5/2026 Scythe vs. Scythe. It's figurative knife fight version of Scythe, fast, brutal and a lot of fun.

After playing several times, this might be my new favorite game, since I love both Scythe and Expeditions and usually only play at two players. The new maps are fun to explore as both characters and the decisions are tight and interesting. Solo play is also pretty fun if a little intimidating. I think the new characters in this expansion may be more suited to this format than the other Expeditions and Scythe characters but I haven’t tried mixing and matching yet. Nohoch and Voyager have an excellent synergy that is fun to take advantage of.
The production values of this SM game are once again superb. Huge effort has also gone into making this game also playable with its parent games. Will update once I've played it.
Scythe and Expeditions are two of my favorite games! I really love how Duel of Meloch brings them together!
This is the perfect standalone expansion ever. This is by far my favorite way to play scythe (and expeditions for that matter and I didn’t even like big expeditions). It’s so easy to bust out Duel and get some scythe in about an hour including setup.
