The Advancements expansion for Galactic Cruise includes several modules, which may be played individually or in any combination with one another. The Cabin-Matching module includes 48 blueprints, which will replace the ones included in the base game. Instead of having half-cabins in the middle of each segment, these blueprints have half-cabins in one of three places–left, center, or right–on their tops and bottoms. In order to build a segment into a shuttle, it must make a full cabin with other previously-installed segments. The Advanced Technologies module introduces upgradeable versions of the technology tiles from the base game; each Technology now has a technology track along the bottom that determines the level of its ability. Each Technology starts with its ability being the same as in the base game, but can eventually become better. The Advanced Locations module upgrades the locations throughout the game when a certain number of Developments have been built. When a location is upgraded, it grants bonuses to players based on how many Developments they've built adjacent to that location. There are also new Agenda Cards, new Upgrade Tokens, a new Cockpit and Engine tile, and 2 new Expert Worker Tiles. Go forth, you innovators, and advance!

Played, thinking of all the strategies and options, hadn't had this sort of first impressions since Brass or Age of Steam. This could be a top three for me.

Top notch expansion with a pretty glaring issue, but well worth having. In isolation a great expansion to an already brilliant game, unfortunately one of the main modules (cabin matching) is made redundant as the next expansion replaces it. Still you could use this on its own and still get fantastic value out of it. The more complex technologies add some interest, mainly I like how they make it more expensive to use, stops people from maxing rep and getting it all for free. I like how the buff to WP spots counteracts this adding some extra stuff back in. Some additional, more of the same stuff in here too, overall a great package.

Cabin-Matching is the way to play, makes building ships more strategic. Advanced Technologies module is too fiddly, not playing with it. Advanced Locations add some strategy for development placement in the late game.
