Cosyuh is a royal fortress in Melderyn, held for King Chunel by Sir Denyl Hilbern, sheriff of Elorin. The sheriff's feudal obligations are directly to the king; he also reports to the Chancellor for legal matters and to the Royal Exchequer for taxes and revenues. Sir Denyl represents the king in the shire, overseeing law enforcement and revenue collection.
Cosyuh stands on the Genin Trail, a busy trade route, and has numerous inns and artisans serving travelers. Royal courts are held four times a year; fairs coincide with the spring and autumn moot to maximize the influx of those attending the sheriff's courts.
The article describes the history, government, religion, economy, and military forces of the settlement. It includes color maps for GMs and players, detailed descriptions and plans of the keep, and brief sheets of artisans and other points of interest. It also contains a four-page expansion on the Hooded Raven Inn, a large building of ancient origins frequented by merchants, scholars, teamsters, and pilgrims. It integrates other Columbia Games products, including Kingdom of Melderyn and various articles on nearby settlements.
