Honestly every time I've played this is has been a blast. With good variations based on the number of players and interesting solo puzzles, this game is a great one!

Description
Honshu is a trick-taking, map-building card game set in feudal Japan. Players are lords and ladies of noble houses seeking new lands and opportunities for fame and fortune. One game of Honshu lasts twelve rounds, and each round is divided into two phases. First, map cards are played in a trick, and the player who played the highest valued card gets to pick first from those cards played. Then the players use the map cards picked to expand their personal maps. Each player must expand their personal maps to maximize their scoring possibilities. Manipulating your position in the player order is crucial for mastering Honshu.

This is one of my favorite games. I really enjoy the spacial planning and trying to wager out my best cards for something better. Have played it with 5, but really enjoy it with 2 or 3.

Nálam valamiért nagyon betalált a játék. A kezedből lerakott kártyával licitálsz, hogy hányadikként választhatsz a lerakott lapok közül. Aztán jön a finomság, hogy megpróbálod beilleszteni az új lapot a városodba, ami garantáltan nem lesz egyszerű, tipikus "melyik ujjamba harapjak" típusú döntések várnak rád minden körben.

Picked up an early copy of this. Really looking forward to the streamlined scorecard in the US release. This game has so much to it in a small package! What seems like a simple card game becomes a mini euro city building game with multiple strategies.

I've played this with several, gamers and non-gamers alike, and I've never had a bad experience with it, though I only recommend the trick-taking rules for 2 players (or solitaire--see the variants section of this page). Update: My parents can't stop playing. And I've recently begun using the rule variant cards, which has refreshed my play too. This game is just outstanding.
