I've played twice now and loved both plays. Gives me some twice as clever vibes with the combo'ing. But then make it more gamery with a LoTR theme. Really makes you think about not only your actions/selections but what the opponent(s) could be doing as well. I've played with 2 and 4. 2 seemed to play a bit better, but not bad with 4 either. I'm not the biggest fan of roll and writes. They normally don't have much interaction. This game, however, has interaction nearly every turn. Your decisions are meaningful. I'll need more plays, but it doesn't seem that one strategy is better than the other. * I saw another note about playing up to 8 with 2 copies. Very intrigued.

We’ve played this several times now, all at conventions waiting for this game to drop. Really love that it scales, and given enough table space, you can play with many folks. We played an 8 person game using 2 copies of the game at Dice Tower West, and it was so much fun. I love how the theme shines through on this roll & write which surprised us all.

Played at Gencon. I thought it was great but would need more play throughs to be sure. The strategy is deep and the choices you make really matter a lot. I didn’t understand the game well enough to develop any strategy my first time. I’ll definitely play it more. My only concern is that, during my game, it seemed the fellowship’s best bet is to just run and hide with the ring and focus on a military victory which, if true, eliminates half of the game.

Played at DTW 2026. Had to go through rulebook which is not the easiest, definitely benefits from a teach as it seems more complicated then it really is. After getting through learning curve I enjoyed the game. Never played anything like it. I can see myself enjoying it more and more as I get better and deeper into strategy. Will be looking out for it when it releases.
