This game is fantastic. I’m so impressed by the craft of making this. I got hooked directly. The story telling and the adventures unfolds naturally. And I really love that you take turns being the story teller to the active player, specially when you are 2 played, which makes all players a part of all the adventures without any down time. I mostly play euros, and this is a nice brake and a cozy activity that offers something else.
The best storytelling board game out there. Similar in mechanic to games like Tales of the Arabian Nights or Agents of Smersh, but with a really solid campaign system and better game mechanics. The stories are really well written and every choice feels impactful. It truly captures the feeling of an open world rpg in board game form, and every session is a memorable and incredible time.
Enjoyable and beautiful less fight-oriented (!) adventure game. Gloomhaven fans, this is not for you. :) While Dale of Merchants didn't much attract myself, this Snowdale game with the same theme feels something I could any day easily take it out and play a round. Both setting up and saving is easy, and after a few games I think I've learned all the rules (missed some in the beginning).
The Breath of the Wildification of narrative driven board games! Builds on the backs of games like The 7th Continent and focuses the gameplay and narrative into perfectly digestible game sessions/story arcs. There is so much exploration through narrative but I do wish there was more exploration through a more expansive map.
