Welcome to the realm of Rokugan: a land of samurai and mystics, mad dragons and divine beings — a land where honor is stronger than steel. Here, the clans serve the Emperor and engage in courtly deceptions and power plays, even as they wage war against each other and the evil forces that plague their realm. This is the world of Legend of the Five Rings! Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game is a Living Card Game set in the world of Rokugan, the original setting for the Legend of the Five Rings collectible card game. To play a Living Card Game, players create individual decks of cards from a base game with a fixed set of cards; they can then add supplemental card packs to this game world, with each pack also having a fixed set of cards, in order to vary their game experience. While the connection of Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game to Rokugan and the Colonies — as well as its pervasive themes of honor, nobility, magic, intrigue, duty, and warfare — should carry over from the original L5R CCG, Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game is not compatible with that original game and will feature significant changes in the game mechanisms.

I watched videos about this game and wasn't interested, but I was desiring a game with this theme and found it cheap, so I went for it, and fell in love with this game on the very first turn. It's gorgeous and artistically consistent throughout; it has thematic gravity; the play is fun, thoughtful and engaging; it's highly collectible and expandable; it's had it's full run, so you know what's available, and it's left quite a legacy, to be sure. Proud and excited to own it!

IMO the best dueling card game. The only problem was it is no where as commercially successful as the heavy hitters in the genre, but mechanically the game is brilliant. Very thematic for a dueling card game as well with very little luck. There is no land screw issue in this game. Only wish I had more people to play it with.

3x Core Sets All Clan Packs All Cycles All Expansions This game just gets better the more I play it. Such a unique game with an immense amount of depth without feeling convoluted. Massively underrated and highly recommend. One of my favourite games. UPDATE 03/10/25: finally tracked down the final expansion pack after searching for ages! (Crimson Offering) I have now completed the entire set!

The best competitive LCG from FFG. Smart gameplay ! Deckbuilding is very interesting and the Imperial laws cardlist makes this game very balanced. A great great card game that every cardgame should try !

Love the re-make of the old ccg. it has a great tactical edge to it for a card game and has some great competitive support.
