In Small World, players vie for conquest and control of a world that is simply too small to accommodate them all.
Designed by Philippe Keyaerts as a fantasy follow-up to his award-winning Vinci, Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs, and even humans, who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth.
Picking the right combination from the 14 different fantasy races and 20 unique special powers, players rush to expand their empires - often at the expense of weaker neighbors. Yet they must also know when to push their own over-extended civilization into decline and ride a new one to victory!

I rate Smallworld a ten because I can keep coming back to play it again. After many plays, each game is still fun. Although the game can be a bit unfair with some faction combinations being OP, I still recommend this game. The unfairness is part of the fun. You can play with newbies, and they can still have a good time. Pros: + Fast-paced gameplay + Outstanding theme + Much more strategic than expected + Diplomacy is ingrained Cons: - Completely unbalanced with certain player counts (for example, diplomat with two players = pain) - One can be wiped off the board pretty effectively

Uno de mis juegos de mesa modernos favoritos. Realmente el modo en el que se combinan las razas y clases, como vas conquistando zonas del mapa y tenés que decidir cuando es el momento justo para entrar en declive para no debilitarte lo suficiente como para no poder hacer nada muy relevante en tu turno. Me parece un juego realmente bueno en lo que quisieron hacer, excelentemente logrado y una perfecta experiencia de juego. Lo jugué varias veces y siempre lo disfruté mucho.

One of my favourite games! I enjoy that the game always feel different with the mix of powers and races. The variety of maps also keeps it interesting. Lots of different strategies and approaches to try and win the game.

For me it's a classic area control board game. I will always love it. Straight mechanics, beautiful art, simple rules, engaging gameplay. I play it with kids, olds and people of my age - each time i feel joy, even if i loose.
