Luthier transports players to the height of classical music in Western Europe, when the art of instruments was supported equally by skilled craftsmen, noble patrons, virtuoso performers, and celebrated composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven.
Through an original combination of secret bidding and worker placement, players manage resources to build various musical instruments in their workshop while courting real historical patrons through a personal tableau of evolving actions and bonuses. Each player chooses how to balance progress across multiple tracks, unlocking special worker abilities and other bonuses.
You can pursue diverse strategies and objectives, such as musical performances, instrument construction and repair, apprentice training, workshop expansion, and overall luthier reputation: there are multiple paths to victory.
