Pili Pili is a fast-paced and fun trick-taking game that is easy to learn but rich in strategy.
The game uses a deck of 55 cards numbered from 1 to 55, which are distributed among the players. Before starting, choose a mission card, which will add some “spice” – i.e., a little chili pepper – to the game, making each game more exciting and unpredictable.
Declare your bet on the tricks you will win, for example: “I will win 2 tricks!”.
The cards are played one at a time, and the highest card in the round wins the trick. Respect your bets... or risk taking pili pili (African chili peppers), which represent negative points!
A fast-paced game where sometimes losing is the best way to win.

Gyors és szórakoztató. A rikiki alapokra rátesz egy kis pikk dámát, kinget és pár egyedi ötletet. A feladatkártyák variálhatók házilag is, és akár francia kártyával is játszható, de Vigyázz 6! paklival tökéletesen. Jó adag szerencse is van benne. 2-3 és 6-7 játékossal is jól működik, de talán 4-5 játékossal a legjobb. Bár csak 6 pili pilit kell begyűjteni, 6-7 játékossal az már lehet 30-40 perc is.
This game is absolutely great. Works amazing with 3+ players (the more the better). I don't get tired of it. The only negative thing is that for 2 players I believe it doesn't work. PS: I need expansions.

Seems to be a reimplementation of Whist 22. The mission cards do a lot to jazz things up (and tend to move the game toward the end by giving out more negative points), so I enjoyed this quite a bit more than I expected to when I realized the similarities with Whist 22. Seems much less likely to outstay its welcome. Played at BGA.
Even though the game builds upon a well known mechanic (predict the number of tricks you will win, as in Wizard or Skull King), Pili Pili feels fresh and different enough to stand on its own. It has very few rules and can appeal to absolute beginners and experienced gamers alike. We played it in 3, but I guess it scales well from 3 to 8, which is a rare feat in a game. (I'm not sure if it works as a 2-player-game, but I haven't tried yet). I can only recommend it! The only criticism I can think of: name those pilis what they are, chilis.
