Schadenfreude is an engaging trick-taking game for 3-5 players. The game ends when a player exceeds 40 points, and the winner is the one closest to 40 without going over. Description
Schadenfreude is a trick-taking game for 3-5 players. The game ends when a player exceeds 40 points, and the winner is the one closest to 40 without going over. The card distribution includes some negative values, it is a game of "obligation to respond" and does not have trump suits. The winner of a trick is the player who plays the second highest card of the opening suit. That player collects their card and all cards that did not follow the suit into their score pile. However, a player can have at most one card of each value in their score pile. If they collect a second one, both cards are discarded instead. At the end of a hand, a player scores points equal to the sum of the values of the collected cards.
